Found amongst hundreds of vendors at the Sausalito art fair in 2015 during a four-year drought in California, I was drawn to this piece by Florida artist Amy Leigh Carstensen, with its layered color-blocking of whites, blue, turquoise, orange and yellow depicting an ocean with sunset light. While the real ocean and clouds move and the colors change quickly at sunset, this painting captures the layers of motion with an elegant calmness that smooths over its complexity. A welcome respite for the eyes on days filled with looking at computers, these colors are soothing and calming physically and emotionally. Professionally framed with solid wood. Size: 21" x 21" including frame. Oil on canvas.
