Watercolor of an Endangered Tiger with stenciled text asking "What Next?". This painting was a favorite of mine when it was hanging at the Nimbus Art Studio in Napa Valley, California. I admire the edgy, street-smart text adjacent to the skillfully rendered tiger. The artist, Anne Pentland, is an animal activist and is concerned for endangered species, and includes such animals often in her work. Here perhaps the tiger is asking "What Next" for itself. But we all could be (and probably are) asking this question in these times of shootings, fires, riots and a pandemic. I often think "What Next?" in a personal, questioning way, as a wanderer in these chaotic times looking for the next sign of what to do and where to go. Size: 22" x 25" (Framed).
